On this screen you will see the rule settings. Our spam filter reads a
score that gets entered into the header field of your email after it is
scanned by our software. The number of Xs in the Parameter Field
determines the severity of the filter. It is set to 8 Xs by default, but
you can add or remove them depending on your email needs and tolerance
for spam.
Once you do this click the "Set Rule" button.
The lower the
number of Xs the more likely a message will be identified as spam, the
higher the number, the more spam that will pass through. If it is set too low you run the risk of having legitimate emails
removed. If it is too high then the more junk mail you are likely to
receive.
If you ever accidentally erase all the characters in the
parameter field just retype X-Spam-Level:XXXXXXXX*
and add or subtract any Xs as you wish.
The Action field denotes what happens to a message once it is
identified as spam.
